Kids are the most beautiful and amazing part of our lives; their cute and funny activities brings a smile on our face and makes us feel all warm and fuzzy. As parents, we do everything in our power to get the best of everything for our babies and one such thing could be to install a kiddie pool in the backyard for your tots! Trust us when we say, it will be a great source of fun for you as well as your kids.
Summer is perhaps the best time to enjoy the warmth of sunny days and also to let your kid take advantage of this season. They can splash water around in the pool that is filled with cool and clean water. This will not only help your baby grow faster but also help them learn a lot through water play. You can enjoy the most precious moments of your life by watching your children bumbling around, playing, dancing, and whooping it up in their own little kiddie pool.
A kiddie pool is indeed a good way for kids to have fun in the most pleasant season of the year. But to keep the pool safe and sanitary, there are certain things that you should keep in mind before setting it up. Here are some basic things that you need to keep in mind!
How to set it up
Like others you must be under the impression that installing a kiddie pool is a piece of cake; the only thing you need to do is to fill it with water from the hose. Right? But actually, the process is not as simple as it sounds if you really want a safe and sanitary pool for your children.
Any type of pool – be it inflatable, plastic or of any solid material – can easily contract bacteria and spread the infection through either the pool or the person. So, before installing it, read all the instructions carefully written in the guide book and then fill it with a sufficient amount of water– usually 1/3 of the total height of the pool’s fence.
Once it is filled, make sure that the tap water is chlorinated and if it’s not, then add sufficient amount of chlorine to your small backyard kiddie pool.
Setting up a pool doesn’t mean that you have walked the whole nine yards, it’s just the beginning. You need to maintain cleanliness and hygiene on a daily basis to keep your kids healthy. A swimming pool with unclean water causes bacteria and therefore is a direct invitation to several diseases and is more harmful than enjoyable. So, change the water frequently preferably once in every two to three days to keep the bacteria at bay from your little one’s small pool.
Toddlers can contract infections more quickly and easily than adults. So, it is best to cover their diapers or underpants properly. You can also stabilize the urine levels in the pool water by adding chlorine to it.And when the water gets too murky, empty the pool, clean it and refill with fresh water.
All times safety tips
After proper maintenance and cleaning, there are some tips that you need to apply for the safety of your tiny tots –
- Apart from changing the pool water regularly, empty it if it’s not in use and place it securely to help stop the any kind of bacterial contamination.
- Ideal pool should be surrounded by proper fencing that should be at least 4 feet high. Even if it’s a kiddie pool, it should have a fencing.
- One person should be there at all times when the kids are in the swimming pool to prevent any accidents.
- Use floating rings, swim wings and other portable water toys and also life vests to have more fun.
A shower is essential after swimming
When your kids get their fill of the pool, ensure that you give bathe them as the pool water contains chlorine which is not good for their skin. Also, keep away all the after-bath things ready like towel, dry clothes, body lotion etc so that you can dry them off quickly. Installing a towel radiator close to the kiddie pool could be a good option as it will help you have a fresh and fluffy towel ready for your babies.
Now when all the preparation is done, and you are all set to add a kiddie pool in your backyard, go ahead and let your kids enjoy their new activity to the fullest.
